Columbia Sportswear Company’s Q3, FY26 financial results exceeded market expectations, driven by solid direct-to-consumer (DTC) engagement and robust international momentum. The company’s net sales rose by 2 per cent Y-o-Y to $962.6 million, while diluted earnings per share expanded by 74.7 per cent to $1.66. Global DTC sales increased 5 per cent, boosted by digital storefront performance and outdoor footwear expansion. Operating margin broadened 430 basis points to 11.4 per cent, aided by disciplined cost controls and reduced administrative overhead.
Navigating regional dynamics and supply chains
Geographic diversification proved vital as 9 per cent international sales growth - led by Asia-Pacific and Latin America markets - offset a 1 per cent decline in US revenues impacted by wholesale shipment timing. Management subsequently raised the lower end of its FY 2026 outlook, projecting total net sales between $3.46 billion and $3.50 billion. Tim Boyle, CEO highlighted, focused investments in high-tier retail environments and brand creation initiatives continue to fortify customer retention. Early wholesale order growth for early 2027 further signals stabilizing channel demand across primary activewear verticals.
