Cone Denim collaborates with Kingpins show, Tonello and Piero Turk on a ‘One Denim’ collection

As a part of its collaboration with the Kingpins show, Italian wash innovators Tonello and designer Piero Turk, US denim manufacturer, Cone Denim plans to launch a special collection.

A continuation of the ‘One Denim’ series created each season by Kingpins, Turk, and Tonello in collaboration with a different denim mill, the project focuses on highlighting a fabric's adaptability by using a single denim fabric to craft ten distinct silhouettes.

This season, the collaboration will showcase Cone Denim’s Stout fabric, known for its flexibility, while also promoting sustainable design to help prevent overproduction. The capsule collection will be launched at Kingpins Amsterdam on Oct 23-24, 2024 followed by Kingpins Hong Kong on Nov 21, 2024 and Kingpins New York on Jan 22-23, 2025.

Pierette Scavuzzo, Design Director, Cone Denim, says, this initiative aligns perfectly with the company’s modern vision and sustainability goals by reducing complexity in design.

The One Denim collaboration aims to demonstrate the ability of a single high-quality fabric, like Cone Denim's Stout, to transform into a variety of styles, thus reducing the need for multiple fabrics and minimising waste. Piero Turk, Designer, One Denim, emphasises, the project highlights the endless creative possibilities that can be unlocked by a single fabric.

Alice Tonello, Marketing and R&D Director, Tonello, adds, the project shows the diverse results yielded by a single fabric, thus offering a sustainable approach that reduces waste while sparking imagination. This collaboration inspires brands to think bigger while using fewer materials, she adds.

Features a range of silhouettes, the One Denim collection includes classic five-pocket jeans and trucker jackets, alongside fashion-forward pieces like vests, t-shirts, and dresses. Each item was co-designed by Turk and Cone Denim, then sent to Tonello for sustainable finishing treatments to achieve the final look.
