The 10th European Nylon Symposium will be held in Frankfurt on March 1 and 2, 2016. PCI Nylon organises two symposia per year in order to update clients on developments throughout the global polyamide industry. It provides an opportunity for business managers, marketers, purchasers, business analysts and anyone else involved in the commercial operations and strategic planning areas of the polyamide industry to learn the latest updates on their industry.
The PCI Nylon Symposia 2016 will look at current conditions in the PA process chain, from petrochemicals through intermediates to engineering plastics, fibre and films applications. In particular it will focus on identifying, analysing and debating the essential questions for polyamide with respective focus on Europe/America.
During the last four years the polyamide industry has turned full circle. In 2011 the raw material producers were enjoying record margins and effectively dictating terms to their downstream customers. These downstream customers were desperately trying to pass on these price expectations, while worrying constantly about their effect on long-term demand and growth. However, today raw material suppliers are now running at breakeven economics and fighting for survival, while many elements of downstream PA are enjoying the ideal combination of unexpectedly strong demand and healthy margins. But as all these entities are joined together in the same production chain, is it any more sustainable now than it was in 2011? The 2016 PCI Nylon Symposium will address this question and many others.
