While the trade floor of Ready to Show Milano inside Hall 10 at Fiera Milano-Rho placed a heavy spotlight on boutique ateliers and low-MOQ nearshoring, European retail buyers quietly converged on Bangladeshi knitwear giant Mascom Composite Limited for the critical counterpart to fashion-forward design: massive, dependable volume production. Organized alongside the Milano Fashion & Jewels (MFJ) trade hub, the recently concluded salon served as Italy’s key international contract apparel gateway, connecting global manufacturing powerhouses directly with European fashion houses and retail buyers.
Operating with a three-decade track record in large-scale circular knitting, the Dhaka-based vertical powerhouse used the Milan platform to reinforce its role as an indispensable industrial engine for European multi-store networks. Unlike regional nearshore operations built around small-batch agile runs, Mascom’s end-to-end framework—encompassing fabric development, automated circular knitting, industrial dyeing, and finished garment assembly—is engineered to absorb high-capacity baselines that boutique European mills cannot execute at margin-efficient costs.
That operational scale already anchors major retail corridors across Southern Europe. During on-site discussions at the fair, the company highlighted extensive production programs executed for top-tier Italian athletic and lifestyle retailers, notably Italy’s premier sports retail chain Cisalfa Sport and contemporary casualwear label Sorbino. Focusing on foundational sportswear separates, heavy-construction fleece, and precision-engineered jersey, the mill demonstrated how commercial volume and stringent European quality standards intersect on the retail floor.
Speaking at the company's stand during the exhibition, Abdullah Al Mamun Khan, MD, Mascom emphasized the structural balance European procurement directors must strike in today's volatile economic climate as, “European brands come to Milan looking for quick fashion, but the business runs on volume reliability. With thirty years in vertical knitting, we give retailers the scale, certified consistency, and margin stability they need to keep their core collections running year-round.”
As European sourcing executives increasingly adopt a bifurcated model—pairing nimble Mediterranean nearshoring with South Asian industrial capacity—Mascom Composite proved in Milan that enterprise-level reliability remains the true bedrock of commercial retail.
